Kind of? Reading it all sounds intimidating at first, but it helps to focus on finishing the current part you're on rather than being overwhelmed by how long the entire manga actually is. You also don't need to know what happens in parts 1-6 to understand parts 7 and onward, though I think the previous parts are definitely worth reading for someone who has the time.

Another thing about the series I find amusing, is that Viz has been releasing the manga in the US for more or less 10 years, but nobody gave a shit about it. Though a couple years ago, it magically blew up and now every other anime fan loves Jojo. It's like the Doctor Who phenomenon.

It's just kind of strange seeing people get ridiculed as being hipsters for liking Jojo, then it blows up in popularity.
