Nocturne's difficulty is kind of weird. Dunno about normal difficulty (I've only played on hard), but I felt that it sometimes would zig-zag between "this is tough as hell" and "I could play this in my sleep", though most of the time it was in a sweet spot between the two extremes. Megaten's got a reputation of being like the Ninja Gaiden of RPGs or something, and I'd say it's a bit misleading.Â
Reminds me that I need to do more playthroughs of Nocturne before SMT IV: Final comes out. Shoot.

Most of the time in those games, you just gotta grind, or there's other tedious things to do. Also games like Digital Devil Saga have pretty high encounter rates.

Eh, I'd say that grinding isn't a necessity (unless you want to defeat some of the hardest ultimate bosses in the franchise), but it varies from game to game.
Good moves >>>>> high levels, though you might need the latter to end up with the former. Low level challenges are possible, but of course you need to know the game to an insane level to pull them off.Â
Also, how bad is Digital Devil Saga's encounter rate compared to, say, Nocturne? I haven't played DDS yet, but SMT1 has a pretty nuts encounter rate that's offset by quick battles and not having to transition to another screen (unlike later games).

Melee @ Genesis 3 was so fucking good, Mango had an amazing losers bracket run and just destroyed everybody with his Fox that he hadn't used in tournament for ages and he played super aggressive, the whole crowd was on his side the whole time and when he won against Hungrybox everyone went nuts. Everybody wanted the Armada vs Mango grand finals and somehow it actually happened because Mango went into Neo Mode.
It was so crazy. I wanted Mango to make it to grands more than I actually cared about who won, Mango vs Hungrybox had me on edge, I was freaking out in irc and irl. So good to have no puff in finals for the first time in ages.
It's like the stars aligned on this day to create the most amazing smash tournament. It hit 116k stream viewers and the entire theatre was stacked with people. Mango and Armada were trending on twitter at one point. I need to chill out or something.
