The feeling of frustration when someone is having trouble, and they make it look like they're asking for help. Then you offer help, and all you get is groaning and moaning like it's a giant inconvenience for them to do anything to help themselves.

I guess whining about their problems is more convenient than fixing their problem.

It always is. What's easier? Complaining, or fixing the problem? If they complain, they don't have to do any real work. If they fix the problem, there's work involved.

Don't remind me. I know this girl that complains on a daily basis. We'll mention any solution to a problem she's having to change her life, and instead of just going with it, she makes an excuse for every one until it comes down to her saying "I'm just going to deal with it."

One example:

I need a haircut and don't have money.

Solution 1: Get a job

[Excuse that evades to "I don't want to"]

Solution 2: Cut it yourself

"Hair is just gonna grow forever."

I think that individual has bigger issues than that if they don't want to get a job.

Yeah it sucks when people play the victim like that rather than take responsibility. Just stinks of immaturity.

RE: General Chat Thread - Grungie - 06-24-2016

We have a girl in our shop that's pretty much on her way to getting kicked out. So for awhile, she was just kind of a nuisance, just had all these annoying quirks that would piss people off, but not enough to really do anything about. Then during an exercise, she dropped a giant bomb, and it's basically been a downward spiral for her and everyone dealing with her. I could tell the story about that if anyone is interested, but I'll give you one of the meatier chunks, which is that she straight up said she refused to actually work, or work past 4pm, which isn't how this works.
Anywho, she comes up with a new medical issue pretty much every other week, and is miss Tumblr queen, and has a new trigger every other week (direct quote with the trigger part), then disregards the old trigger. At least have some consistency with the triggers. I got a juicy piece of information from someone who works directly with our leadership, and lately it's been spilling out to everyone else, partially because she's one of those people who you'd think wouldn't want everyone to know her business, but she blurts it out so loud in the office, everyone can hear it.
One of the things she's been fucking up, that none of the branches in the military beat around the bush with, is the physical training portion. She has never taken a complete fit test. Apparently she magically has a different medical condition that has her on a profile every time she has to take a test. Her most recent fit test, she completely bombed. She came back saying she failed. I gave her too much credit, and just assumed she didn't pass the run because her foot was fucked up, but nope she bombed everything.
That's when our leadership found out the juicy tidbit that she's never taken a full test. So now they're trying to help her prepare for her retest, which is in a couple months or something, by giving her mock fit tests, and she goes to a remedial training twice a week on top of our 3 times a week workout. They're also doubling as a gauge to see her motivation on trying to pass. Well the last two, she magically has a giant migraine and is unable to take her fit test because she's dizzy and about to faint. They get suspicious over these, because when she comes to work, it's like nothing happened.
I could write a book over all the shit she stirs into the pot, but the bottom line, is that she's not doing anything to help herself. She said that we have to change our perception of her, not her doing anything to have people not think she's useless and crazy. The thing is, with her constant medical profile right before fit tests, if it was the same reoccurring medical condition, she can actually get a waiver from a doctor, and they can find a work around for her tests. Though with her, it's always "oh my arm" then "oh my leg", "now it's my foot uuuuuuugh". She's really damning herself.

Heh, in the Army, they probably have had her scrubbing toilets every week. Btw, just so non-US residents know, you have to be a major fuckup to get kicked out of the US military. Yeah, it's like any other job, but they do all kinds of things to work with you and aid you in increasing performance. (My dad's ex-army.) So, it's not like most jobs where they fire you after 2 months of fuckups.

Pretty much you gotta do something really stupid, like a major security violation, or something hella illegal. Or fail multiple fit tests.

On a different but related note, this meme is great:
