Or maybe it's a scare tactic. Apparently people in the US get letters from their ISP's for torrenting, but it's one of those "I know a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy's cousin, who knows a guy"

Friend of mine got one of those once. They're just like "Hey, we know what you're doing, don't do that!" and then he just did it anyway.
Worst I got from torrenting is I got throttled a little for a month, and that was just because I used ridiculous amounts of data seeding.

I was trying to up my ratio on a tracker so I had like 3-4 torrents uploading with no limit for like a week or so. Plus the amount I downloaded between Steam games and entire Animes was far in the hundreds of GB.

Man that's a lot. When I lived at home, between my brother and I, we would have a fuck ton of stuff torrenting all the time. Maybe AT&T didn't give a shit.

I didn't even realize how much I used until I checked. I also forgot to take into account that my mom was frequently Netflix streaming and I was frequently watching Twitch around this time as well. Somehow the following year they offered an upgrade on our everything and cut the cost of our monthly bill. Weird how that works.

Hard to say considering at one stage my mother was using the British netflix and I was using the Australian one at the same time. I should add we were using the same netflix account. So I have no idea. Maybe they say that they are doing that to appease the content owners, but in fact don't because they are not a massive bag of dicks?

So they cut you down for a month, but then they later say "hey here's an upgrade to your internet!".
Shows how much they care about torrenting.
