What do you as a gamer find keeps you interested in a game or series?
for me it mostly is the modability/programmability of a game. If I can't do crazy shit with the engine what is the point?
Varies on the genre for me. For RPG's either the story or gameplay has to keep me interested. I thought I was easily satisfied with JRPG's until I played Nostalgia and Legend of Dragoon. They both feel soulless.
Not sure, games that feel sloppily made or just look ugly as sin aren't so fun. Games that nail what they aimed to create often end up being favourites of mine. Games that go for too long can make me lose interest but if they're good enough I'll still like them.
idk, as long as I have a few hours of fun then it's worth the money usually.
No specific requirements. If the gameplay is fun, challenging, and can keep me entertained for hours on end, its a good game in my books.
In general, if it is fun.
More specifically, especially when I complete a game, my initial reaction is something like "Wow that was amazing" and I actually get sad that I'm done with it.
what makes a game good? if it's fun. games that have a good story are good, but i'm not sure i'm gonna care if the game quits being fun after i complete its story.
i know there are a lot of people who say games should be hard, but i've always believed that a game needs to be fun before difficulty can improve it.

I think a certain level of difficulty adds to the fun. If it's too easy then it won't be that fun.

It doesn't necessarily need to be hard, but having a sense of challenge is pretty important to how long the fun can last for. Easy games can be fun at first, but without a sense of challenge to make you feel accomplished for succeeding, it can quickly become boring.
I'm fine with games being easy throughout but it really helps if there's an option for a harder difficulty or some sort of challenge mode side stuff.
I can't say the story of a game is a huge factor for me (excluding VN's and similar kind of interactive stories) since a mediocre story won't effect how much I enjoy the gameplay. A good story is very welcome but also has no effect on how I enjoy the gameplay. So uh, I don't think story makes a game good. It can improve the experience of a game but it isn't pivotal.
Definitely challenge and storyline. I want a good story where I feel like *I* earned it.
